Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIPP)

The pilot, launched in 2017, helps employers in Atlantic Canada hire foreign skilled workers who want to immigrate to Atlantic Canada and international graduates who want to stay in Atlantic Canada after they graduate.

Due to its success, the government has committed to making this pilot a permanent program. It will continue to be a flagship regional economic immigration program, complementing the provincial nominee programs in each Atlantic province.

FYND GLOBAL has a whole team of expert counsellors who can walk you through the complete end to end process of Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.

To qualify for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, applicants must have an official job offer. Usually, to obtain a Canadian job offer valid for immigration purposes, the applicant must obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This is not required for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. Instead, the job offer must be from a designated employer. In 2018 the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program aimed to welcome a maximum of 2,500 new immigrants to the Atlantic region, with targets increasing to 4,000 by 2020.

Three Prgrams

Three programs operate under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, which target different types of candidates.

 Atlantic International Graduate Programs
The Atlantic International Graduate Program is aimed at candidates who have a degree, diploma or other credential from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province. Work experience is not required. The job offer must last for at least one year.

 Atlantic High-Skilled Program
The Atlantic High-Skilled Program is aimed at skilled workers with management, professional or technical/skilled job experience. There are also other requirements. The job offer must last for at least one year.

 Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program

Provincial Endorsement

Each job offer received through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot must be approved by the provincial government.

After the candidate has received their Settlement Plan, the employer handles the application for endorsement.

Candidates should not apply for permanent residency until they have received a Certificate of Endorsement. This must be provided together with the application.
